Village offers new additions

The Historic Village located at the Lake County Fairgrounds will be open for the Lake County Fair and Roundup on Friday, Sept. 3 and Saturday, Sept. 4 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Sunday, Sept. 5 from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.

Some of the new additions this year include an international self-rake reaper, a student desk made constructed sometime during 1900, a hydraulic ram and pump, a water wagon and crop sprayer and the newly restored surrey driven from Los Angeles in the early 1900s to Lakeview.

The newest publication of the historical society’s “Lake County the First 100 Years” will be available for purchase, as well as other historical society publications.

Admission is free and donations are accepted. All donations go to the operation and maintenance of the facility.

The village has been under construction for nine years and open to the public for eight years. It is open by appointment and during the Roundup. For more information, contact Ed Henry at 541-947-5026.
