Florence J Mautz
Florence J Mautz, 82 passed away Thursday, June 25, 2009 with her family be her side in Salem.
Florence was born to Frank and Mary Padget in Roosevelt, Okla. on Jan. 27, 1927.
Florence lived most of her life in Lakeview where she married her love Don in 1947 and would have been married nearly 63 years. The last four years making their home in Salem.
She was a homemaker and enjoyed her knitting, crocheting, but her passion was hand stitching quilts.
She was preceded in death by her son Tommy D.; her parents; brother Raymond Padget.
Florence is survived by her husband Don of Salem; daughter Jan of Salem; brothers and sisters-in-law Roy and Delores Padget, Darwin and Michael Padget and Dale and Deanna Padget; sister Karilyn Story; granddaughter Karli Jean of Salem; and many neices and nephews.
Celebration of Life will be held Thursday, July 9, 2009 at 11 a.m. at the Desert Rose Funeral Chapel.
A private family committal ceremony will be held after the services. The family invites you to a reception at the Elks Lodge immediately following.

Kim McLean
Kim McLean, 57, died in Lakeview on Wednesday, June 24, 2009 from cancer.
Kim was born to Jerry and Delores (Kobalski) McLean in Gary, Ind. on Feb. 20, 1952. At the age of 10 she moved from Gary to Kankakee, Ill. where she graduated from high school in 1970. She then attended the University of Illinois for two years before enlisting into the Navy. After serving honorably for four years she continued her education at Humbolt State University in Eureka, Calif. where she earned a bachelor’s degree.
Kim’s career with the National Parks Service took her to numerous places from Alaska to New Mexico. She had been in Lakeview for about two years with the Bureau of Land Management serving as the Outdoor Recreation Planner. She enjoyed most outdoor activities and volunteering with the Oregon Outback Humane Society.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Kim is survived by brothers, Kelly McLean of Bradley, Ill. and John Kenneth McLean of Kankakee, Ill.

A memorial service will be held at a later date.

June Sorseth
June Sorseth, 92, passed away on Saturday, June 20, 2009.
She was born in Green Forest, Ark. on May 29, 1917 to Martha Paddy and Mack McAllister.
She had five sisters and one brother. She was raised in East Texas until the family moved to Idaho and eventually Milton-Freewater where she graduated from high school. She attended Oregon State College and worked for JC Penney in Albany where she met and married Julian Orlando “Jay” Sorseth. She worked and managed the PX at Camp Adair during World War II.
June managed the downtown liquor store until Jay’s death in 1988. She retired in 1992.
June and Jay had two sons, Jason and James.
June enjoyed playing the organ and piano and taught music and music theory. She painted and made jewelry, but her passion was collecting antiques and “objects of interest”.
She was preceded in death by her husband Jay in 1988 and son James who died in 1954 of Leukemia.
June is survived by son and daughter-in-law Jason and Vicki Sorseth of Portland; grandsons Matt, Paul and Kelsey Prenger of Portland; granddaughters Jennifer Sorseth of Elmira, NY and Tamara Broker of Portland; sisters Glenna Corsen of San Jose, Calif. and Grace Records of Milton-Freewater.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
