As a reminder for interested participants, the application deadline for the 89th annual Lake County Fair and Round-Up Parade is Thursday, Aug. 28, by 3 p.m.
The registration date was moved up this year for organizational purposes. This year’s parade is Labor Day, Monday, Sept. 1.
Parade entries need to be lined up in their respective locations by 9 a.m. that morning for judging. Horses line up for judging at the north side of the football field, while floats line up on South L Street, west of the football field and on North 1st Street, near the Lake County School District No. 7 office.
Trucks, machinery and derby cars line up on South 3rd Street, near the tennis courts.
Horse division categories include: oldest mounted rider, youngest mounted rider, youngest managing cowboy, youngest managing cowgirl, single-horse drawn entry, best-matched team, mounted senior group, mounted junior group, mounted family, best western dress and visiting rodeo court.
Float division classes include senior group, junior group, best out of town, antique vehicle, classic vehicle, industrial trucks, commercial business, agriculture and most unique.
