Tuesday, Sept. 8 – OSP responded to a report of an abandoned vehicle that was parked on the fog line of Hwy 140 at mile post 94 and creating a hazard for eastbound travel. Deiter’s Towing towed the vehicle belonging to Arthur Whelchel.
Tuesday, Sept. 8 – OSP trooper stopped a vehicle for speeding at the intersection of south First and F streets in Lakeview. Criminal activity was observed and a probable cause search of the vehicle revealed a usable amount of heroin and a butterfly knife. A records search revealed that the driver, James R. Davidson, Vancouver, Wash., was a felon. He was cited and released in lieu of custody.
Wednesday, Sept. 9 – OSP responded to a single vehicle accident on Hwy 31 at milepost 108. Tim W. Palmer, Culver, went off of the roadway for unknown reasons and caused significant damage to this vehicle and to 40 feet of barbwire fence. He did not have any injuries and was able to drive the vehicle to a pullout before OSP arrived. Deiter’s Towing towed the vehicle.
Thursday, Sept. 10 – OSP responded to a hit and run accident on Westside Road, Lakeview. Michael Paul Vaughn Jr. was driving northbound when for unknown reasons he drifted into the oncoming lane crashing into another vehicle. The other vehicle was forced into a ditch. Vaughn then fled the scene on foot and was later identified. Hall Towing towed his vehicle, while the other car arranged their own tow. Vaughn was charged with failure to perform duties of a driver in an accident.
Thursday, Sept. 10 – OSP contacted a juvenile male in Lakeview regarding a probation detainer. He was taken into custody and transported to juvenile probation.
Sunday, Sept. 13 – OSP responded to an accident involving a commercial motor vehicle and a fire truck on Hwy 31 at mile post 99. Shane Morgan Brollier, driver of the commercial motor vehicle, displayed signs of impairment and had a breath sample of .18%. He was issued a criminal citation for reckless driving and DUII – Alcohol.
Sunday, Sept. 13 – OSP responded to a non-jury motor vehicle accident on Hwy 140 at mile post 31. Martin Gjorgjeski, Eatonville, Wash., struck a cow. He then went off the roadway, through a barbwire fence and into a ditch. Arts Towing towed the vehicle.
Sunday Sept. 13 – OSP responded to a motor vehicle versus cow accident on Hwy 140 at mile post 31. Elizaveta Koloskova, Salt Lake City, Utah, struck a cow. She was able to drive her vehicle to Adel and park the vehicle. Her var had extensive front end damage. Hall’s Towing towed the vehicle.
