Monday, June 8 – OSP responded to an abandoned commercial motor vehicle on Hwy 140 at mile post 42.5. The vehicle was tagged and towed by Deiter’s Towing on Wednesday, June 10.
Monday, June 8 – OSP responded to an abandoned Ford Taurus on Hwy 140 at mile post 45. The vehicle was towed by Deiter’s Towing.
Tuesday, June 9 – OSP responded to an accident on Hwy 140 and Roberta Rd. Cameron Richard Smith, Aloha, was traveling eastbound on the highway; he was carrying several mattress box springs in Ford F-350, when they blew out of the bed and onto the highway. Joshua Cooper Harless, Talent, crashed into the box springs. No injuries were reported.
Thursday, June 11 – An OSP trooper stopped Jacob Malcom Cauthorn, for a traffic violation at the corner of north Fourth and P streets. He was cited and released for misdemeanor driving with a suspended license.
Saturday, June 13 – OSP responded to a crash on Hwy 140 at Pike Ln., Tyler J. Howell, Blair, Neb., was distracted by a mobile electronic device. He failed to negotiate a curve and drove off the roadway into a ditch. No injuries were reported and the vehicle was not towed.
Tuesday, June 16 – OSP responded to a motorcycle accident on Hwy 395 at mile post 132.5. Bobby Rogers, Las Cruces, N.M., became ill and laid the motorcycle on its side. The driver was transported by ambulance and Don Deiter’s recovered the Yamaha motorcycle.
Friday, June 19 – OSP responded to an accident on Hwy 395 at mile post 83, when Bruce Cannen Emery went off the roadway and got stuck. When OSP arrived at the scene, Emery displayed multiple indicators of impairment, he refused a field sobriety test. A search of Emery revealed a hidden firearm on his person. A search warrant was obtained and a breath test revealed a blood alcohol test level of .17%. The driver was issued multiple citations including DUII and unlawful possession of a firearm.
Sunday, June 21 – OSP assisted the Lake County Sheriff’s Office regarding a fatal motorcycle crash on Dog Lake Ln. The victim was Joseph Vincent Arruda, 52, San Mateo, Calif.
