Saturday, July 13 — Deputies responded to a single vehicle rollover accident on the Sinks Road, approximately 25 miles northeast of Christmas Valley. Reports were the vehicle had rolled multiple times with four occupants. During the investigation the driver said she braked to miss a rock in the road, and the car slid, then rolled. EMS arrived to render aid to all occupants who determined injuries were all minor. The investigation revealed the vehicle slid approximately 277 feet before it rolled twice landing on its wheels. North Lake Towing recovered and secured the vehicle. The investigation is ongoing.
Wednesday, July 24— Deputies contacted the victim of an animal complaint in 85000 block of Thorn Street. The victim said that a dog chased him while the victim was riding his bicycle down a hill. The victim said he kicked at the dog several times however the dog continued pursuit. The victim demanded that the dog be immediately euthanized. When the victim was told that the Sheriff’s Office was not going to euthanize the dog the victim became enraged and uncooperative. At one point the victim said the Sheriff’s Office was worthless and hung up on the 911 dispatcher. The investigation did however result in the dog owner receiving a citation to appear in Circuit Court under county ordinance 18A, Animal Control section 3.1, dog license.
