Members of Boy Scout Troop 79 in Lakeview spent their Saturday collecting food to benefit the Lake County Food Share in advance of the Thanksgiving holiday rush.
Aided by Scout Leaders and parents, BSA Troop 79 canvassed areas around Lakeview to collect non-perishable food items on Saturday, Nov. 16. After collection was complete participants weighed, sorted and delivered over 650 pounds of food.
The food will go to good use immediately for free food boxes intended for the Thanksgiving holiday to be distributed among Lake County communities. BSA Troop 79 is sponsored by the Lakeview Lions Club.
