Bradbury excited to be back in classroom

Lakeview resident Alina Bradbury has returned to her passion, becoming the new special education teacher for the Lake County School District #7 (LCSD#7) elementary schools.

Bradbury, who earned her degree in liberal studies with an emphasis on child development at Sacramento State University, Sacramento, Calif., has a passion for helping students in the special education classroom, but had to put that on a brief hold when her son was born.

Over the past year she has worked as a Student Investment Act grant liaison for the Lake County Educational Services District (ESD), and when LCSD#7 was working its plan she was a reentry supervisor hired by the Lake County ESD. But her true passion is in the special education classroom to which she longed to return. The opportunity arose when LCSD#7 posted the position, and she jumped at the chance to get back into the classroom.

She fell in love with the special education curriculum and how it can help students when she was attending Sacramento State University, where she completed community service in classrooms across the Sacramento area and decided to continue the career.
