Church of Nazarene to host two missionaries

Dr.’s Beckey and Nathan Mason and their family.

Lakeview’s Church of the Nazarene is welcoming two missionaries to town.

On Tuesday, April 30, Dr. Nathan and Dr. Beckey Mason will be giving a presentation on their missionary work.

There will be a potluck dinner at 5 p.m. with the program to follow.

Nathan, a Family Practitioner first became interested in medicine during middle school. In college, he took part in three mission trips, he found that God was “leading him towards medical missions.”

Beckey felt called to the mission field as a child and while attending a summer mission trip in college wanted to help orphans with disabilities. In 2016, she felt the call to serve in the Highlands of Papua, New Guinea.

The pair, who lived in the Medford area, lived in Israel where Nathan attended medical school focusing in International Medicine. After completing residency in the United States, he started in practicing Family Medicine.

The Masons have five children, two of which are adopted and have Down Syndrome. The family has been in New Guinea since 2017 as they look to “bring physical and spiritual healing to the people in the Western Highlands”

The Church of the Nazarene is located at 602 S. 6th St., in Lakeview and the public is welcome to attend.
