Michelson opening act at Round-Up

Jackson Michelson will be the opening act at this year’s Fair and Round-Up; opening up for Chris Janson.

Lake County has found its opening act for the Centennial Celebration of the Round-Up.

Country Music star Jackson Michelson has been booked and will open for Chris Jansen this year at the Round-Up Concert.

Raised in Corvallis, Michelson had a unique rise to country music. His older brother Paul Wright, landed a record deal as a Christian artist, so Michelson began marketing for him, selling t-shirts and CD”s at his brother’s various shows.

Touring the country “lit a fire inside Michelson” according to his website, as he began playing with bands back home in Corvallis writing his own music as he looked to create songs that were high energy and appealed to people. He and his brother played together for a few years in a band called “Rootdown” before Michelson branched out to follow his dreams to be a country singer-songwriter.

He kicked off his career on the west coast, “carving out a sound that blended the rootsy twang of the American South with the sunny, feel good spirit of the Pacific Coast”

In 2010, Michelson released his debut extended play album titled “Dreams” and in 2016, he released a self-titled extended play album.

Michelson has toured with some of the best in country music in his short time on the country music scene. He’s toured with artists such as Lady Antebellum, Darius Rucker, Blake Shelton and more. He’s visited radio stations in over 120 cities across the country.

“Blake Shelton taught me how to be myself and to respect every night,” Michelson said. “Each night you play a show is a gift and we should always give it our all. That’s the best advice and something I always remember before I play a show.”

Michelson’s hit songs include “Rollin”, “Boys Will Be” and “The Good Life” released last year that has become a hit on Sirius XM Radio.

Michelson’s next show will be Stoney’s Rockin Country in Las Vegas in March. He’s toured across Oregon and the west coast performing hundreds of shows in the last few years.

Tickets for this year’s concert will go on sale at a time, date and location to be announced.
