One of Lakeview’s popular eateries; Burger Queen held their grand re-opening ceremony on Monday, Aug. 12. Approximately one year ago today, the restaurant closed due to a fire that caused damage to the interior and exterior of the building.
No one was hurt in the incident and work immediately began on restoring the building to its former glory.
The building experienced a complete makeover with new signage, new paint job, while the interior of the building has all new seating, new paint job and much more.
The menus have a more modern look to them and all of the old time favorites still remain, including burgers, wraps, soups and everyone’s favorite ice cream flavors.
“This has been an extremely long year and we are so thankful for the community,” co-owner Kevin Samples said before officially turning on the open sign. “We are open and ready to go for round two.”
Many local partners including Anderson Engineering, Tracy Electric, Philibert Construction, Lakeview Redi-Mix, Lakeview Sanitation and more helped out with the restoration and rebuild of the site.
There was a big community turn out for the ribbon cutting, as the family was presented with a welcome gift basket from the Lake County Chamber of Commerce and the Chamber Board.
The Samples bought the restaurant in 1987 and have been going strong ever since.
Burger Queen is located at 109 S. F St. in Lakeview. And is open from 10 a.m. – 9 p.m. seven days a week.
