A program that helps fill the Christmas season with a little extra joy will take applications through Friday, Nov. 22 in Christmas Valley.

The annual Tree of Joy program, overseen in northern Lake County by the Christmas Valley Boosters, will accept application forms at a drop box at Oregon Country Realty, or mailed to the address listed on the application form. Applications are available at the Christmas Valley, Silver Lake, and Fort Rock post offices.

The annual Tree of Joy program is a means by which residents can provide gifts to children in Lake County that may not otherwise receive gifts during the Christmas season. The program has been immensely popular in Lakeview and Christmas Valley as a way to both provide charity for the holidays and assure that those from low-income homes can still have a merry Christmas. The program in Lakeview is sponsored by the Rotary Club.

Applications are intended for children from birth to age 18, if still in school, that reside full-time in northern Lake County. Families in need of assistance during the holidays can fill out an application seeking help to sponsor a child, children, or whole families.

Applications can be mailed to Christmas Valley Boosters, P.O. Box 83, Christmas Valley, OR 97641.

For more information about the Tree of Joy program contact Shara at Oregon Country Realty at 541-480-6461.
