Disaster Unit participates in extrication training

Lakeview’s Disaster Unit and Thomas Creek’s Westside Fire Dept., participated in extradition training on Wednesday, June 27 practicing window removal, roof removal and more.

Lakeview’s Disaster Unit and Thomas Creek Westside Fire Dept. participated in extrication training on Wednesday, June 27 at Forrest Bradley’s wrecking yard. 

Thomas Creek Westside Fire Dept. Chief Daniel Tague coordinated training with the Disaster Unit practicing vehicle stabilization, window removal, door removal, roof removal and steering column lifts. 

Bradley donated cars to be cut up and allowed the first responders to train at his wrecking yard. 

Both the disaster unit and the Westside Fire Dept., provide vehicle extrication in southern Lake County. 

The Disaster Unit’s Mission Statement is to provide provide emergency medical care and transport to people in need in southern Lake County and the surrounding region in a professional and dependable manner. We will do this by supporting our partners in the Emergency Services sector, honoring our roots of volunteerism and providing a place for dedicated members to serve our communities. We will operate as a team and recognize the dedication of each and every person involved in providing these services. We will continue to value the people and community that we serve with emergency medical care.
