The aftermath of the fire that ripped through 4805 Auto Sales building on N. 4th St. in Lakeview.

Late Friday night into early Saturday morning a fire rip through the 4x4 shop owned by Alaric Crandall and 4805 Auto Sales service area own by Marcus Sutfin.

The fire started at approximately 12:30 a.m. Saturday morning on Crandall’s side of the shop and quickly spread to engulf the entire building.

According to Sutfin it was a chimney fire and Crandall was inside at the it started, but he was able to get out of the building safely.

Inside of Sutfin’s side was mostly tools, hoses and other equipment needed to repair vehicles while most of the cars were parked outside. One car did become engulf in flames and burned to the ground.

Right now Crandall and Sutfin are in the process of finding out what has survived, what needs to be replaced. Sutfin is still selling his vehicles and plans to reopen in another locations at a future date.
