Mass crowds filed in and out of the Warner Canyon Ski Hill on Saturday, July 27 for the first ever Summer Fest put on by the Fremont Highlanders Ski Club.
Food was provided by Amanda O Bryan’s Three Sisters Catering Company while Skyline Brewing provided drinks.
There was no shortage of activities as Jamie Davis, Ann Crumrine and Tonia Albertson led hiking on the various hills. Melissa Maxwell coordinated three, five and 10 mile trail runs. The hiking and trail runs were a great way for anyone who hasn’t yet checked out the trail and trail markers that have been set up on the trails adjacent to the ski hill.
Thom Batty, Chris Bishop and Marie Tucker had biking options and a course set up for anyone to come out and ride the various bikes that the bike shop offers. Melanie Loski took charge and led yoga while Jeremy Ringulet had a nine hole disc golf course set up with baskets set up all around the ski hill including one up on top of the mountain and anyone could ride the ski lift up to the top.
While the final tally was unknown, all of the proceeds went to the late Barb Stephens Memorial.
The Fremont Highlanders Ski Club hopes to continue to grow the event and hopes it will be an even bigger success next year.
