A marketing agency DVM Insider started a contest in 2019 to find who were the best 500 veterinary offices in the country, and Lakeview Animal Hospital placed 436 nationally and top three in the state of Oregon.

Bend Spay and Neuter Project and Barclay Hills Animal Clinic placed higher in the state than Lakeview Animal Hospital.

Dr. Rodney Ferry, of Lakeview Animal Hospital, was surprised not only they placed in the top 500; but that so many people cared about the practice in the community and felt passionate about the hospital.

DVM Insider uses a process where they aggregate review scores from online reviews such as Goggle and Facebook. DVM Insider looks at only real reviews and weeds out obvious fake reviews.

According to Dr. Ferry around six months ago they heard from DVM Insider that they had been nominated by a customer, they do not know who nominated them. Dr. Ferry blew it off and then got another announcement from DVM Insider that they had been named as one of the top 500 animal hospitals in the country for 2019.

“I am proud of our small town practice,” said Dr. Ferry.

He felt they might not have a great chance at winning since they are mix-used practice and handle not just dogs and cats, but other animals as well.

“We have been serving the community for over 30 years and I feel we provide excellent customer service and fair prices,” said Dr. Ferry.

He believes the hard work of him and the other doctors in the practice helped win the award for the hospital. He also believes that rural animal hospitals can win national awards.

DVM Insider is taking nominations for the 2020 list, nomination forms can be found at dvminsider.com and are due by Friday, Jan. 31.

The Lakeview Animal Hospital website is outbackvetsupply.com, they are located at 18644 Roberta Road, Lakeview. Their phone number is 541-947-3383.
