Lake County’s 2021 Round-Up Court was crowned toward the end of Sunday night’s PRCA Rodeo. Briana Church was crowned the 2021 Round-Up queen, and Samantha Hopper took the 2021 Round-Up Princess title. Todd Muller, who served as the 2020 Round-Up President, will serve a second term as president of the 2021 Round-Up.
Church is the daughter of Buck and LaDonna Church and has lived in Christmas Valley for the better part of her life. She graduated from North Lake High School this year. She will be attending Eastern Oregon University in the fall where she will study ag sciences, run track and play basketball.
Prior to court tryouts, Church said she felt a spot on the Round-Up Court could teach her a lot. She was also excited for the opportunity to represent Lake County.
Hopper is the daughter of Dave and Linda Hopper. She did not grow up in Lake County, but her paternal grandparents, Rex and Renee Hopper, and her maternal grandparents, Sam and Cindy Lamb, are longtime area residents so she visited Lake County many times before moving to Lakeview with her family before her freshman year of high school.
Hopper is entering her senior year at Lakeview High School this fall. Hopper will be moving to Montana for college next year, having been accepted early admission to Montana State University. She plans to major in psychology and minor in criminology, as well as being a part of Air Force ROTC. She also hopes to be on the university’s rodeo team.
As someone who grew up visiting Lake County and who now lives in the area, Hopper said she wanted to try out for the Round-Up court to represent those two sides both enjoying visiting the area for years and now loving her life here.
