Builders FirstSource will be closing its doors on Tuesday, March 31, bringing to an end, for now, of a long run of businesses that have operated in the same location.
Originally Lakeview Lumber, then thereafter known for a long time as Lumbermen’s, the business became ProBuild before most recently going under the moniker Builders FirstSource. The company, based in Dallas, Texas, is a feature in many farming and ranching communities across the United States. The store closure in Lakeview is part of the company closing several retail locations across the country.
There is no word if another company will come in and take over the site as of the time of publication. Also unsure is the fate of the employees at the store, it is not known if they will be offered positions at other Builders FirstSource stores.
With the closure of Builders FirstSource, Ace Hardware Owner Dan Henderson is looking at the possibility of adding lumber to his store, though whether in the same amount or styles that Builder FirstSource carried has not been decided. Currently plans are being finalized one way or another.
Calls to the corporate office for more information were not returned.
Builders FirstSource is located at 1303 N. 4th St., Lakeview.
