TJ's to become Campbell Cove Lanes

Jake and Steffi Campbell are the new owners of TJ’s Family Fun Center & Restaurant, which will now be known as Campbell Cove Lanes. The Campbells are pictured with their children, Degan, front left, and Jorrin, front right, in front of a mural painted on the business, which features a fisherman based on Steffi’s grandpa.

TJ’s Family Fun Center & Restaurant is now under new ownership and will soon have a different name as well. Jake and Steffi Campbell purchased the business from Chuck Kelley last week. The couple signed a five-year lease on the building with first option to buy. While much of the business’s operations will remain unchanged, Jake said he does plan to switch up a few things.

Steffi’s grandparents, Stan and Erika Walters, previously owned the business, then known as Lakeview Lanes/Papa Dan’s. Kelley took over in 2017 and named the location after his late wife, Treva Joyce.

Kelley first started suggesting that Jake should purchase TJ’s a couple years ago, but Jake said he was never sure if he was serious. A little over a month ago, while on a trip with his dad, a conversation the two had made him seriously consider taking over the business, Jake explained. He approached Kelley to be sure he was serious about selling TJ’s, and they talked numbers and came to an agreement.

Jake is an avid bowler, and Steffi spent a good deal of her time growing up in the bowling alley – noting that it has long felt like a home away from home – so purchasing TJ’s made sense. Between league bowling and the occasional dinner, Jake said, he was already spending a lot of his time at TJ’s anyway. He would also occasionally help with mechanical issues in the back.
