Evelyn Louise Goff, 87, passed away peacefully at her home, two months shy of her 88th birthday on Sunday, August 25, 2019.
She was born Oct. 24, 1931 in Nyssa to Robert “Pud” Long and Bliss Carter Long.
Evelyn grew up on a homestead in the Rome, Jordan Valley area until her adolescent years when she moved to Nyssa. She was active in school activities including cheerleading.
Evelyn met and married Al Goff in 1957. They had two sons. After studying as a civil engineering tech in 1957, Evelyn worked as a financial manager for Region 6 US Forest Service for 33 years before retiring in 1990. She loved spending time at Drew’s Reservoir, skiing and camping with the Moss family and their girls. She also loved hunting for arrowheads for fun. Evelyn enjoyed time spent with her grandchildren, fishing with friends, and coaching softball. She loved working in and entertaining in her special yard. She loved riding horses, especially during roundup time. She also enjoyed helping process hunting game the family brought home.
Evelyn was preceded in death by: husband, Al Goff; her parents; son, Kevin Goff; and stepmother, Anna Sparks Long.
She is survived by: son, Gregory Goff of Tangent; special companion and caregiver, Ruth Goff; grandsons, Taylor and Tanner Goff of Butte Mont., and Nick Steward of Salem; granddaughter, Lashae Goff of Tangent, great-grandchildren, Malaya and Talon, step brother, Wayne Sparks; and several nieces and nephews.
There will be a memorial pot luck celebration planned for the future to celebrate Evelyn’s life and legacy.

But open your eyes and see all that I have left behind.”
