Karen Marie Parmentier, 70, returned to her home with Jesus on Thursday, March 25, 2021.

Karen was born May 19, 1950 in Wendell, Idaho to Art and Gladys Sheer.

She spent her childhood in Jerome, Idaho until her family relocated to Oregon in 1959 then settling in Lakeview shortly after. She met and married the love of her life, Lance Parmentier , Oct. 16, 1982. She was widowed seven years later and never remarried.

After graduation in 1968 Karen received a scholarship from Soroptimist International which she used to earn an associate degree from Northwestern College of Business. She then later established Lake County Bookkeeping and Tax Service which she owned and operated for many years.

Karen had a kind spirit and an outgoing personality, the type to start a conversation with a stranger only to find a friendship. Starting in high school and throughout her life she continuously volunteered her time among various clubs and organizations. In recent years she expressed great pride in serving God at the First Presbyterian Church in Lakeview as the office manager.

Karen is preceded in death by: husband, Lance Parmentier; her parents, Art and Gladys Sheer; brother and sister-in-law, Carl and Louette; brothers, Lloyd Raymond, Paul Arthur and John Raymond Sheer.

Karen is survived by: son and daughter-in-law, Paul and Mary Parmentier; stepdaughter, Meachell Girtman; sisters and brothers-in-law, Donna and Jim Baiamonte and Linda and Kevin Pardue; brother, Warren Sheer; grandson, Bryan Parmentier; and nephews, Steven and Andy Pardue.

A Celebration of Life was held at the First Presbyterian Church, 619 S. 1st St., Lakeview on Saturday, April 3, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. There was a reception luncheon following the services and Karen’s cremated remains were interred at Sunset Park Cemetery in Lakeview.

Honorary Bearers are Kevin Pardue, Steven Pardue, Andy Pardue, Brian Parmentier, Carl”Punk” Colton, Brandon Kerr, Con Fitzgerald, and Robert Lund.

Memorial contributions can be made in Karen’s name to Shriners Hospital for Children, 3101 SW Sam Jackson Park Rd., Portland, Or 97201-3095 or to First Presbyterian Church, 619 S. 1st St., Lakeview, Or 97630, or to a charity of the donor’s choice.
