Michael Lee Fledderjohann, 26, passed away at his home in Beaverton on Monday, June 25, 2018. He was born to Lee and Kristie (Johnson) Fledderjohann in Fort Bragg, Calif. on Nov. 14, 1991.
The family moved to Lakeview in March of 1995, when Michael was three. He went all through school in Lakeview, had some wonderful teachers, and made good memories and lifelong friends. He graduated from Lakeview High School in 2010, and attended Linn-Benton Community College for one year.
Michael loved spending time with his friends and family, being in the outdoors, cooking, eating great food, creating new recipes, playing drums, collecting guns, fitness and body-building, and heavy metal music. He had some great off-road adventures in the pickup he built with his dad. He enjoyed learning about things that interested him, and loved sharing his knowledge and ideas with others. When he’d had enough of crowded life in the “big city,” he would drive up the Columbia Gorge until he found a hiking trail with few people on it, so he could enjoy the restful solitude of the woods.
After graduation, he worked construction for a short time, helping with the seismic retrofit of the high school. He had quite a sense of humor, and one day after work, he said, “Taking a sledge-hammer to my old school? Best day of work, ever.” After that, he worked for Ray Harlan Logging, and then for Lake County Railroad. He moved to Beaverton where he worked as a conductor and then as an engineer for Portland & Western Railway until the time of his death. Through his different jobs, he had some wonderful bosses, and made great friends, who knew him as Mike.
If Michael touched your life, please honor him by going out and making memories with the people you love. “For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.” Romans 8:38-39
