Monte Blue Rhinehart

Monte Blue Rhinehart,82, passed away on Tuesday, July 14, 2020, at St. Charles in Bend.

He was born Aug. 24, 1937 to Ervin and Goldie Rhinehart in London, Ohio. He spent part of his childhood on Shaw Island in Washington. The family moved to Arlington where he met the love of his life, Evelyn Blom. They were married in 1953 in Tillamook. In 1954 they welcomed a son, Rio Monte. In 1956 they welcomed a second son, Ricky Marvin.

From 1954 – 1970 Monte worked together with his dad in telephone construction traveling throughout the western United States. In 1970 they moved to Lakeview where Monte worked for CenturyTel. In 1984 they moved to North Lake County. Monte served all of North Lake and surrounding areas as their reliable and respected telephone man. He retired in 1999 and enjoyed his post retirement years in the quiet community of Silver Lake with his wife Evie.

Monte enjoyed hunting, camping, bowling, flying his two different airplanes and spending time with family and friends.

Monte was preceded in death by: his parents; and brother, Arlet.

Monte is survived by: his wife, Evie of almost 67 years; sons, Rio and Ricky; daughter-in-law, Becky; sister Maria Lance; two granddaughters, Angela and Cindy; six great-grandchildren, Camden, Eathin, Michael, Summer, Brianna, and Tayla; one great-great-granddaughter, Oakley; and many other “adopted” grandchildren and friends.

A Celebration of Life will be held Friday, July 24, 2020 at 2 p.m. at the Silver Lake Fire Hall. Please wear a mask and bring your own snacks. We want all to stay safe and celebrate Monte’s life.

Donations may be made in Monte’s honor to Silver Lake Fire Department and EMT’s.
