LHS dominates in first softball game of the fall

Lakeview High School (LHS) softball got off to a hot start in the first game of the fall season against Burns High School. Front row: Bridget Shullanberger, l-r, Kaya Laurer, Emily Philibert, Ryanne Culbertson, LeAnn Dillavou, Alexa Philibert; Back row: Jaila Jackson, l-r, Annikah Tacchini, Francesca Zendejas, Lanie Dick, Tyler McNeley, Adriana Ishida, Fernanda Inzunza and Tayla Ewell.

Lakeview High School softball was dominant in its first outing of the year against Burns High School, winning 11 – 0 on Tuesday, Sept. 22.

The Honkers were led by their star pitcher Tyler McNeley, who struck out 21 Hilanders in an impressive pitching performance. Throughout the game she only allowed three hits.

The Honker offense came out hot in the first inning, with many of the players reaching base and scoring five runs in the first inning, as the Burns pitcher struggled to strike out the Honkers. As it was the first game of the season for both teams, and many players on both sides had not played since summer recreation softball, there was some rust and jitters early on in the game.
