Lakeview High School (LHS) softball team won its final two games against Sisters High School on Saturday, Oct. 10, completing the fall season.
The Honkers won 18 – 0 in the first game and 16 – 13 in the second game, led by a dominant pitching performance by Tyler McNeley.
In the wet, windy, and rainy weather, McNeley dominated the Outlaws in the first game, allowing only two base runners and one hit. She was in complete command of her fastball, and the Sisters batters had no answer —— either striking out, hitting weak pop ups, or barely getting a ball out of the infield when they were able to make some contact on the ball from McNeley. She showed no mercy to her opponents, and is looking strong for the official season next May.
With McNeley on the mound, the Honkers lined up at bat against the Outlaws, who struggled to get an out against the Honkers throughout the entire first game —— whether it was timely hitting, poor pitching, or a continual barrage. At least one inning the entire lineup went up to bat, and all of them reached base or scored in the third inning. McNeley finished with nine strikeouts.
