Tuesday, Sept. 14 — OSP stopped Cameron Marcus Perlman, Bethesda, Maryland, for a speeding violation on Hwy 140 at milepost 90. Criminal activity was observed and a search of the vehicle revealed several plastic baggies with marijuana in them. Perlman was citied for minor in possession and given a warning for the import/export of marijuana and for speeding.
Thursday, Sept. 16 — OSP was dispatched to a motor vehicle versus deer accident on Hwy 31 at mile post 77. The accident was blocking both lanes and minor injuries were reported. Douglas Carr Swantner did not want medical transport. ODOT was able to movie the vehicle to a safer location, and opened the north bound lane of traffic. The vehicle had heavy front end damage. Hall’s Towing towed the vehicle.
Friday, Sept. 17 — Manuel Brasil Alves, Lakeview, was driving a vehicle hauling large hay bales on Hwy 31 at mile post 79 when he drifted off the roadway. The trailer disconnected from the tractor and rolled in the roadway; and rolled onto its side losing the load of hay. The tractor was not damaged and no injuries were reported. ODOT assisted on the scene and Alves was able to remove the trailer.
Monday, Sept. 20 — OSP was dispatched to a non-injury single motor vehicle crash versus deer on Hwy 31 at milepost 87. When OSP arrived it found a white Nissan Sentry, driven by Michael Shane LaFon, Christmas Valley, facing southbound off the roadway with heavy front end damage. Neither the driver nor the passenger requested medical treatment. The driver stated he was negotiating a corner when the deer ran in front of him. Hall’s Towing towed the vehicle.
