Monday, Oct. 11 — OSP was dispatched to a non-injury motor vehicle accident on Hwy 140 at mile post 94. When OSP arrived it found that a vehicle driven by Jakeb Xavier Jaska, Lakeview, was facoing south and blocking the west bound lane. The driver has lost control and over corrected while traveling across ice and caused significant damage to the vehicle and the guard rail. ODOT and Lake County EMS assisted. Hall’s Towing towed the vehicle.

Tuesday, Oct. 12 — See Lee, St. Paul, Minn., was traveling eastbound on Hwy 140 at mile post 10 when the driver struck a cow that ran out into the roadway. The cow was deceased and the vehicle was towed by Hall’s Towing.

Friday, Oct. 15 — Melva Juett, Roseburg, was traveling eastbound on Hwy 140 at mile post 11 when it struck and killed a deer cross the roadway. Deiter’s Towing recovered the vehicle.

Friday, Oct. 15 — OSP stopped a vehicle being driven by Tanya Inez Ferguson, Bly, for a traffic violation on Hwy 140 at mile post 68. The driver was driving with a suspended license and had a felony warrant. She was cited and released.

Monday, Oct. 18 — ODOT located a wallet and cellular phone on Hwy 140 west of Lakeview in a ditch. OSP was able to locate and contact the property owner who picked up the property from the Lakeview OSP office.

Wednesday, Oct. 20 — OSP stopped a vehicle being driven by Marty Wayne Bales, Lakeview, for a traffic violation on Hwy 140 at mile post 89. Signs of criminal activity was observed. A consent search revealed methamphetamine and marijuana. The driver was cited and released for possession of methamphetamine.

Thursday, Oct. 21 — OSP stopped Jacqueline Ann Heflin, Lakeview, for a speeding violation at the intersection of Hwy 140 and Airport Road. Heflin showed indicators of impairment and voluntarily performed a field sobriety test. The driver was arrested for DUII and provided a breath and urine sample and cited for driving under the influence.

Thursday, Oct. 21 — OSP stopped John Tyler Gallup, Lakeview, for multiple traffic violations at the intersection of north 6th and H streets in Lakeview. A DMV and warrant check of Gallup revealed that he was out of compliance as a sex offender and hadn’t registered annually this year. Gallup was issued a criminal citation.

Saturday, Oct. 23 — OSP stopped April Storm Bitner, Lakeview, for a lighting violation t the intersection of north G and 10th streets in Lakeview. Indicators of impairment were present. Bitner refused a voluntary field sobriety test and was arrested for DUII. A search warrant blood draw was conducted at the Lake District Hospital. Bitner was lodged at the Lake County Jail for DUII and reckless driving. The case has been referred to the DA for charging.

Sunday, Oct. 24 — Cesar Suarez, Miami Lakes, Fla., was traveling westbound on Hwy 140 at mile post 22 when it struck a rock in the roadway disabling the vehicle. Ace Towing recovered the vehicle.

Sunday, Oct. 24 — OSP stopped Hallie Rose Seely, Cedarville, Calif., for a lighting violation at the intersection of north F and First streets in Lakeview. An odor of marijuana was present in the vehicle. A consent search of the vehicle revealed a marijuana pipe and two vape pens. Both occupants were under 21 years of age. Seely was issued a citation for minor in possession of marijuana and the pipe and vape pens were seized.
