Someone sent me a copy of what they posted in Klamath County. It said: “You can steal our signs, but you can’t steal our vote.” What the note didn’t say was that when a person steals a political sign from someone’s yard, or commits an act of vandalism because of the presence of a political sign, the perpetrator is committing a crime of theft and threatening violence.

A number of signs have been stolen in Lake County. Those of us from either political party who are putting out signs or posters are enthusiastically and legally posting their right to vote and support candidates. I haven’t seen any Republican signs go missing. A few signs posted in Lake County promoting a particular candidate is not a threat to any stable or reasonable person.
