With the afternoon sun shining down, five Bureau of Land Management employees set out to deliver non-perishable food to the Lake County Food Share. It took about 45 minutes to complete the two-mile walk from the Lakeview Interagency Office with a stop at the Lakeview Interagency Fire Center, but 126 pounds of food was delivered.

According to 2020 Feeding America data, Lake County has the eighth-highest food insecurity in Oregon. Roughly 13.1%, or 1,040 individuals in Lake County, suffer from food insecurity, and 77% of those live below the poverty level.
