Everyone is invited to come out this Saturday, Aug. 20 for CASA of Eastern Oregon’s first annual 5K Kids Super-Fast Dash. Kids, parents and other members of the community are encouraged to dress as superheroes for the event. The run will start and end at Soroptimist Park.
CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocates) seeks caring adults to serve as advocates for children in the foster care system.
One of the goals of the 5K is to spread awareness about CASA in Lake County. A flyer for the event notes, “All kids need a hero, kids in foster care need a superhero.”
Registration forms are available at Tall Town Bike & Camp, located at 19 N. E St. in Lakeview.
Day-of registration will begin at 8 a.m. at Soroptimist Park. Registration for the 5K is $20; registration for the kids fun run is $10. The event will be held from 9 a.m. to noon and will include a costume contest. Call 541-219-0161 for more information.
