The Forest Service is proposing to decommission and remove five buildings from the Lakeview Ranger District site to better meet the Forest’s long-term needs. The five buildings located at 18049 Highway 395, in Lakeview “are under-utilized for their intended function and inadequate for Forest activities,” according to a release from the Fremont-Winema National Forest. “By maintaining only fully utilized structures and remodeling the site for smart future expansion, the Forest can improve efficiency and capacity,” it adds.

If approved, a contractor will demolish and remove the buildings and dispose of any associated hazardous waste. The equipment involved could include excavators, bulldozers, skid steers, cranes, bottom-dump trucks and/or rear-dump trucks, flatbed trailers, and other large equipment.
