The LHS Student Council is hosting a Can Jam Slam on Monday, March 13 at the Lakeview High School Gym at 7 p.m.
The Can Jam Slam is a fundraiser for the Lake County Food Share. It is a three-on-three basketball tournament where teams play continuously for 20 minutes. There is no age limit for players and LHS would be glad to have anyone from the community participate.
The teams play half court basketball until the offensive team makes a basket or the defending team gets a rebound. Once one of these happens the team dribbles the ball to the other end of the court and plays three-on-three with the team defending that hoop. The team that loses goes to the end of the line on the side wall. Teams must have one person of each gender. Winners will receive t-shirts.
Entry fee for teams is 10 canned foods or $10; entry for spectators is two canned foods or $2. All proceeds will go to the Lake County Food Share.
Anyone with questions may call Danica Shullanberger at Lakeview High School at 541-947-2287.
