Lake District Hospital Report
Lake District Hospital had 13 admissions and 64 total E.R./prescriptive services for the week of Tuesday, Sept. 27 – Monday, Oct. 3. There were five outpatients in OB and surgery, and seven births. Not all names of the patients admitted are released for publication.

Lake County Sheriff’s Report
n Monday, September 26 — Deputies responded to the Chevron regarding an individual passing counterfeit currency. The case is under investigation.
n Monday, September 26 — Deputies responded to Golden Lane regarding a vehicle on fire. The driver of the pickup stated that she had just bought the vehicle and was taking it for a test drive. The vehicle backfired which caused the engine to ignite in flames. The vehicle was extinguished by North Lake Fire. There were no injuries as a result of the fire. Investigation is ongoing.
n Monday, September 26 — Deputies contacted Rebecca Epperson regarding an unrelated issue. During contact it was determined that Epperson had several outstanding warrants for her arrested. Epperson was booked into the Lake County Jail.
n Tuesday, September 27 — Deputies responded to the Lake County Courthouse regarding Christina Ray, who had just been sentenced to jail, fleeing the courtroom. Ray was subsequently located at 117 South K St., hiding in the carport of the residence. Ray was taken into custody and booked into the Lake County Jail.
n Tuesday, September 27 — Deputies contacted a patient at St. Charles Hospital regarding a criminal complaint that occurred in Christmas Valley. The victim stated his caregiver was giving him something that was making him sick. The victim also reported there have been a number of suspicious deaths with other persons in his/her care. The Oregon State Police have been consulted and the investigation is ongoing.
n Tuesday, September 27 — Deputies responded to a crash in Silver Lake regarding an ambulance hitting a cow the night before while on an emergency run. The investigation was forwarded to DMV and no law enforcement action was taken.
n Thursday, September 29 — Deputies responded to a motor vehicle vs pedestrian motor vehicle crash in Christmas Valley. As a result of the crash the pedestrian succumbed to his injuries as he was being transported for Air Life extraction. OSP responded to reconstruct the crash. At this time in the investigation, there does not appear to be criminal negligence on the part of the driver. The investigation is ongoing.
n Thursday, September 29 — Deputies contacted Jeremiah Davis regarding Davis driving on a revoked driver’s license. Davis was cited and released on scene for DWS Misdemeanor.
n Thursday, September 29 — Deputies contacted Donald Marasse regarding an animal welfare check. At the time of contact Marasse was observed in possession of a firearm. Marasse was taken into custody and booked into the Lake County Jail.
n Thursday, September 29 — At the request of the DA’s Office, Deputies contacted Brian Gregg at his residence regarding an outstanding warrant for his arrest. Gregg was located in the 900 block of South H Street. Gregg was arrested for the outstanding warrant and citation into court in lieu of custody.
n Saturday, October 1 — Deputies conducted a traffic stop and contacted Jeremiah Davis, the driver. Davis was arrested and booked into the Lake County jail for DWS Misdemeanor and Probation Violation.
n Sunday, October 2 — Deputies responded to the 500 block of north J Street regarding an out-of-control male. The investigation led to the arrest of Kyle Bennet for Domestic Violence Harassment. Bennet was booked into the Lake County Jail.
Oregon State
Police Report
n Friday, September 23 — OSP was dispatched to a non-injury motor vehicle crash on Hwy 140 near milepost 47. Upon arrival, a red pickup and trailer were facing westbound on the highway with heavy front end damage and a dead cow in the ditch. No one was around the vehicle. The property owner was notified and provided a case number. The driver of the vehicle was later identified and provided a crash report. Deiter’s Towing towed the vehicle.
n Tuesday, September 27 — OSP served a search warrant on a subject in the 88000 block of Dog Lake Lane for felon in possession of a firearm. During the search firearms and ammunition were located. The subject was lodged at the Lake County jail. Lake County Sheriff’s Office assisted.
n Tuesday, September 27 — A camper at the Summer Lake Wildlife Area was life-flighted out for a medical emergency. Several items of value were left in plain view. On Tuesday, Sept. 27 with the permission of his wife, the items were secured until she was able to come and pick them up on Thursday, Sept. 29.
n Tuesday, September 27 — A subject fled the Lake County Circuit Court after being sentenced to custody. The subject again fled contact by a Lake County Sheriff’s Deputy when she was again advised she was under arrest. An area search was conducted. After a few minutes, a LCSO Deputy located the subject in a carport. A struggle ensued while placing her into physical custody. An OSP officer arrived on scene as the struggle was occurring and assisted in gaining control of the subject. Due to the exertion and struggle the subject showed signs of medical distress. An ambulance was called and transported the subject to the Lake District Hospital for evaluation. She was later released and booked into Lake County Jail by Lake County Sheriff’s Office.
n Wednesday, September 28 — OSP received a driving complaint on a vehicle. The vehicle was located on Hwy 395 near milepost 82. The driver showed signs of impairment. The driver consented to standard field sobriety tests. The driver was subsequently arrested for DUII. Hall’s Towing towed the vehicle.
n Thursday, September 29 — A Dodge truck and gooseneck trailer were eastbound on Hwy 140 east of Lakeview when the engine began to smoke and caught on fire. The entire truck burned, and damage occurred to the tongue and front of the gooseneck trailer. No injuries were reported. Warner Valley Rural Fire assisted on scene and extinguished the fire. ODOT assisted with traffic control.
n Friday, Sept. 30 — The operator of an ATV stopped and shot a suppressed .22 pistol, killing a Douglas (Pine) Squirrel, a protected non-game species. The subject was cited and released for Hunting Prohibited Area: Public Road and the firearm with suppressor was seized.
