Sheriff's Report

Saturday, April 23 — Deputies conducted a traffic stop in Silver Lake. During contact, a warrant for the driver, Franklin Shaw, was confirmed out of Klamath County. Shaw was cited in lieu of custody.

Saturday, April 23 — Deputies observed a Chevy Blazer fail to stop for the posted stop sign at the intersection of Center and south L streets, Lakeview. The vehicle was stopped at north Second and L streets and the driver contacted. The driver stated his brakes had just gone out and was unable to stop. The vehicle was towed due to hazardous equipment.

Sunday, April 24 — Deputies were contacted at the Lake County Fairgrounds regarding three aggressive dogs. According to the reporting party, three juveniles were trapped in the arena with their horse for a protracted period of time. When the reporting party arrived to assist, she was bitten by one of the dogs. The dog's owner retrieved the dogs and left. The investigation is ongoing.

Monday, April 25 — Deputies responded to the Lakeview Chevron regarding a vehicular accident. The investigation revealed a vehicle had driven into the ice machine along the east side of the building causing damage to the structure. The ice machine was also damaged in the collision. There were no injuries sustained in the crash. The driver was issued citations for careless driving and failure to register a vehicle.

Tuesday, April 26 — Deputies responded to a motor vehicle crash on the 200 block of north I street, Lakeview. The investigation revealed the female driver had reportedly fallen asleep and struck a parked 2018 Ford F150 along the eastern curb. No injuries were sustained in the crash. The driver was issued a citation for careless driving. The Toyota was towed from scene.

Wednesday, April 27 — Deputies responded with Thomas Creek West Side Fire Department and Lake Health District Emergency Services to a single vehicle rollover on Thomas Creek Road near the intersection of Thomas Creek and Rabbit Hill Road. The investigation revealed a 2005 Mercury had been traveling westbound on Thomas Creek Road, veered to the shoulder and overcorrected, causing the vehicle to roll. The driver was taken to Lake District Hospital via ambulance and treated for injuries sustained in the crash. The vehicle was towed from scene by Don Deiter's Towing.

Wednesday, April 27 — Deputies received a report of graffiti inside the dugout at the Lakeview Little League field at Roberta and south 3rd streets, Lakeview. The investigation is ongoing.

Thursday, April 28 — Deputies responded to a domestic violence incident on Corum Lane in Silver Lake. The reporting party stated that she and her boyfriend live together in the same residence but are separated. The victim said when she got up that morning she and her boyfriend began to argue. The boyfriend called her names then he threatened to shoot her in the face. The male went into the bedroom and shut the door. The victim said there was a loaded shotgun in the bedroom. Deputies went into the bedroom and retrieved a Remington 12-gauge shotgun leaning against the wall next to the bed. The suspect was arrested for menacing and transported to Lake County Jail.

Thursday, April 28 — Deputies located Brandan Arnold in a vehicle at 1110 S. 11th St, Lakeview. Arnold was taken into custody on a parole hold and lodged in the Lake County Jail. Criminal activity was observed in the vehicle and a search warrant obtained. Execution of the search warrant led to the seizure of a replica firearm and methamphetamine. Charges have been forwarded to the District Attorney for charging.

Friday, April 29 — Deputies were advised by dispatch that Thomas Weinman had multiple warrants for his arrest. Deputies contacted Weinman, arrested him and booked him into the Lake County Jail.

Saturday, April 30 — Deputies responded to a domestic in progress in the 1000 block of south F street, Lakeview. The investigation led to the arrest of a male suspect. The suspect was arrested for menacing, harassment, and violation of a release agreement and booked into the Lake County Jail.

Saturday, April 30 — Deputies responded to a call about a male who entered a private residence he had previously been trespassed from and slapped another male in that house. After the investigation, the male was arrested for criminal trespass and harassment. He was booked into the Lake County Jail.

Sunday, May 1 — Deputies conducted a traffic stop on a Chevy Trail Blazer operated by Michele Sannebeck for driving while suspended - misdemeanor. Sannebeck was cited in lieu of custody and the vehicle was parked.

Sunday, May 1 — Deputies responded to a call about a male trying to break into a vehicle on south 4th street, Lakeview. The investigation revealed two other vehicles that had been entered. A suspect has been identified by video footage from the event. The investigation is ongoing.

Police Report

Friday, April 22 — Troopers responded to a motor vehicle accident on Hwy 395 at mile post 124. Amber Susanne Olsson, Klamath Falls, was driving northbound on Hwy 395 when she struck a dead cow in the roadway; the cow died in a previous hit and run crash. No injuries were reported. OSP is still attempting to locate the owner of the dead cow.

Saturday, April 23 — Troopers assisted the Lake County Sheriff’s Office on a DUII investigation at the intersection of north F and Second streets in Lakeview. During the investigation the passenger of the vehicle — Joy Davis Diede, Lakeview — was warned multiple times to stop interfering with the investigation but refused. Diede was lodged at the Lake County Jail for interfering with a peace officer.

Sunday, April 24 — Troopers tagged an abandoned black Chrysler Aspen on Hwy 140 at mile post 49. The vehicle was towed by Hall’s Towing.

Monday, April 25 — Troopers stopped Darrell Sidebottom, Vine Grove, Ky., for a speeding violation at the intersection of north Fourth and K streets in Lakeview. Criminal activity was observed and a consent search of the vehicle revealed a large amount of marijuana. Sidebottom and his passenger — Darrell Wayne Sidebottom, Vine Grove, Ky. — were cited and released in lieu of custody.

Friday, April 29 — Troopers responded to a motor vehicle accident on Hwy 31 at mile post 62. James Joseph Hurlbert, La Pine, left the roadway and crashed into the side slope and a large rock; the vehicle rolled. Both the driver and the passenger refused medical transport and were transported home by family.

Sunday, May 1 — Troopers responded to a motor vehicle accident on Hwy 395 at mile post 125. The vehicle, which belongs to Holly Megan Gallagher, went off the roadway for an unknown reason and rolled onto its side. The vehicle was left abandoned and was towed by Hall’s Towing.
