Soroptimist International of Lakeview has announced the recipients of its Programs of Service grants. Projects receiving funds for 2023 are the A.D. Hay Washer/Dryer Project, the Senior Center/Soroptimist Room update, Xylophones for Elementary Music Classes, and the Crisis Center Lobby Upgrade.

The club advertises for grant requests each fall with an Oct. 15 application deadline. Once grant applications are received, they are first reviewed by the Programs of Service committee and then presented to the full Soroptimist membership. The club votes on the applications in December and recipients are then notified that funds will be granted in May/June of the following year. Grant recipients are those that most closely adhere to Soroptimist’s mission, which is to improve the lives of women and girls through programs leading to social and economic empowerment.
