Oregon Outback Humane Society will be offering a spay and neuter clinic at the Lake County Fairgrounds Saturday, April 1 and Sunday, April 2. Signups are available online and prepay is required for this event. Visit jotform.com/230515760782053 to schedule a spay or neuter. Space is not reserved until prepayment is made.
All dogs must be on a leash and all cats must be in a carrier, no exceptions. Leashes and harnesses for dogs are available to borrow for use at the event only. Cardboard carriers for cats are available to purchase for $5 at the event. Prepaid vaccines available for dogs are combo distemper, parvo adenovirus, parainfluenza — $10; rabies — $15; or both for $20.
Prepaid vaccines available for cats are combo rhinotracheitis, calicivirus, panleukopenia — $10; rabies -$15; or both for $20. Spay and neuter price for dogs up to 100 lbs. is $140, over 100 lbs. is $150. Spay and neuter cost for cats is $80; barn cats are $20 and ears are tipped on barn cats.
Feral cats are fixed for free, but a donation is highly recommended due to the cost of fixing these animals. Donations are needed to continue to provide Lake County clinic events. Veterinarians are from out of the area and are provided food and lodging. Donations also help provide medications, vaccines and vet supplies to replenish stock for all clinics. Donations are tax deductible, and the contributions are greatly appreciated. It takes a whole community to prepare for this event and volunteers are urgently needed.
The volunteer activities are as follows: trap feral cats — traps are provided, set up on Friday, March 31, recovery support on Saturday, April 1, and Sunday April 2, and clean up on Sunday afternoon/evening. Volunteers may help the entire day, or give any amount of time. Call 541-219-9338 to volunteer.
